End of containment delicacies

If you are looking for some gustatory pleasures to soften the last weeks of containment and then enjoy life to the fullest, here are two recommendations.

Perfect for the first sunny days but also pairing very well with meats and charcuterie as it is both fleshy, robust and fruity, the 2018 Château Terrasses from Château du Moulin à Vent illustrates why this appellation is often described as the best of Beaujolais. Beautifully garnet coloured, well balanced, elegant, complex with nice length on the palate and a nose mixing black fruits and violets aromas, it has first a subtle peppery side then small red fruits flavours on the palate. A treat to be enjoyed without moderation.
Available in Monoprix stores at about €13.75

If you prefer sweets, give a try to the Petits Carreaux chocolates, a brand so named because its bar are shaped like a perspective view of the earthenware tiles designed by Guimard for metro stations.
Our favourite, Noir 80% Ouganda, is a refined and powerful dark chocolate with 80% cocoa with woody and smoky flavours but also slightly acidulous. We also like the Noir gingembre et piment d’Espelette with 60% cocoa, the taste of which is first enhanced with ginger flavours before revealing spicy notes on the finish. The brand also sells other kinds of chocolate with higher or lower percentage of cocoa made from beans coming from other countries as well as a coffee flavoured chocolate and a white chocolate.
Price: € 5.60 per bar online
