Renaissance menus

On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Renaissance in Centre - Val de Loire, forty-two restaurants located in the region offer dishes and menus made of local fresh products inspired by the gastronomy of this era. Sliced duck breast fillet marinated in spiced wine, foie gras with hippocras, lettuce stuffed with small vegetables and fresh goat cheese, strawberry soup with safran, artichoke heart stuffed with veal and Parma ham, lemon chicken, veal breast with snails and fried eggs are some of the delicacies you can eat from May1st to September 30th and even till the end of the year in some places. Besides, the European Institute of History and Food Cultures (IEHCA) of Tours, which has prepared a book of 25 recipes and dishes of the Renaissance and written a notice “To understand French cuisine during the Renaissance”. Menus are priced from €16 to €60.
