Europe’s largest flea market

The famous “Braderie de Lille” is an open-air flea market that exists since the 12th century. During thirty-three hours 100 km of streets are packed with stalls and the event attracts between one and two million visitors. The main streets are lined with most of the professional stalls, designer boutiques pulling out bargain rails, or brocanteurs showing off their burnished, expensive antiques. The street party atmosphere of the Braderie is at its best in the narrow side streets where vendors sell the contents of suburban attics, beers, sandwiches and other delicacies. This is also where you are most likely to find a bargain. In addition there are street entertainers, musicians, exhibitions and much more. On Saturday morning the event kicks off with a semi-marathon, attracting thousands of competitors.
