Roman games

For a weekend, the city of Nîmes takes you back to the roman age with the “Grand Jeux Romains”. Parade of troops, imperial cult ceremony, themed visits, documentary screenings, demonstrations, exhibitions and conferences are held in different venues throughout the city.
The highlight is the show taking place each afternoon in the arena, one of the nicest in Europe. Having the Barbarian Kings as its theme, it features the war between several Celt tribes and the the Romans from 113 to 101 BC in Southeastern France as well as horse races and gladiator fights. In addition, several workshops introduce kids to Roman mythology, Roman board games and archeology.
Opening of the Arena from 10am. to 6pm.
Admission to the circus games : from €15 to €59 for adults, from €5 to €39 for kids under 12s.
