Interceltic Festival

An event not to be missed for anyone interested in Celtic culture, the Interceltic Festival brings together 4 500 artists from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Asturias, Galicia, the Isle of Man and Brittany. It features more than 250 concerts – including some by famous bands and singers such as Goran Bregovic, Nolwenn Leroy and Soldat Louis - theatre plays, dance performances, exhibitions as well as traditional games and sports. Visitors can experience fiddle and bagpipe lessons, Gaelic workshops and ceilidhs. On Sunday 4th morning the spectacular Grand Parade of Celtic Nations takes place with over 3000 musicians, singers, pipe bands and dancers from all over the Celtic world parading through the city streets in national costume. Brittany’s finest pipe bands and individual pipers also participate in a competition, the National Bagadou Championship. Throughout the festival a Celtic Village is open in the centre of the city offering food, music, literature, clothing and crafts.
