Bacon and literature

PARIS.
First retrospective dedicated to Francis Bacon to be held in Paris since two decades, the exhibition “Bacon: Books and Paintings” mainly looks at how literary figures influenced his work between 1971 and 1992. So, it not only presents sixty paintings including 12 triptychs and a series of portraits and self-portraits but also includes rooms where famous French actors such as Jean-Marc Barr, Hippolyte Girardot and Mathieu Amalric read texts coming from books in Francis Bacon’s library written by Nietzsche, Joseph Conrad, T.S. Eliot and so on.
