Departure of the Jacques Vabre transat

LE HAVRE.
Following the historic coffee trading route between France and Brazil, the trans-Atlantic Jacques Vabre double-handed race takes place every two years. This 13th edition starts in Le Havre and finishes in Salvador de Bahia in Northern Brazil. The thirty-nine participating yachts will be visible in the port from October 27th and they will move to the start line from 8.30am on November 5th. The official race start signal will be given at 1.35pm. Till the departure, a village gathering together sponsors, partners, associations and shops is open in the Paul Vatine bassin and houses various events such as exhibitions, activities for kids, concerts, regattas and so on. Highlights include an opening evening with a public dance taking place at the Magic Mirrors on Friday 27th, a regatta between the skippers participating in the race on Saturday 28th and a great fireworks on Saturday 4th.
Village is open from October 27th à 4pm and then daily from 10am to 8pm, till 10pm on weekends. Admission free.
