Cultural Christmas in Alsace

ALSACE REGION.
Created in 2002, The Noëlies are held all over Alsace and comprise a broad range of entertainment and events. Shows, exhibitions, classical music concerts and choir performances carry audiences off on a spiritual voyage through the heart of the Alsatian Christmas. Musicians and bands giving concerts include the Aurelius Sängerknaben boy choir from Calw, in Germany, rendering “A Ceremony of Carols” by Benjamin Britten, The Oxford Clerks, a British male voice quintet performing Christmas works by Haendel, Praetorius, Ravenscroft and Cornelius, The Gentlemen Singers, a Czech ensemble choir that sings traditional English, German, Danish and Czech Christmas pieces, the Cantemus Children’s Choir from Hungary whose repertoire includes works by Britten, Franck, Saint-Saëns, Kodaaly and Kocsar, the Metaboles, a French ensemble choir that will perform works by Praetorius, Brahms, Reger, Kaminski and Lang, and the Alsace Lyric Choir that will render works by Schubert, Verdi, Mendelssohn, Debussy and Rutter.
