As the Ile-de-France’s only thermal town, Enghien needed to have a well being and fitness centre worthy of its status. A goal achieved in 2007 with the opening of the Spark, an establishment clearly set in the upper range of the market and one of France’s largest.
Cares for men and women
Spreading over 3 500 m2 on 2 floors and facing South, its large bay-windows open right onto the lake. Thus the interior is particularly luminous, a sensation reinforced by the width of the rooms and an architecture of simple lines accentuated by subtle Asiatic and Oriental influences. A place full of serenity that makes you feel miles away and ideal for relaxation thanks to its décor of white stones, subdued colours, mosaics and exotic woods. Bathed in the scents of essential oils, the spa section has 24 individual cabins and 2 double suites. Rituals inspired by the birth of the world are proposed by the mark, Terraké, along with many other treatments. Hand, foot, body and facial care, clay body wraps, body scrubs, and different kinds of massage. All in all there are about 40 possible cares lasting from 20 minutes to 2 hours including a few especially aimed at men.
Multi-activity swimming pool
Spark’s second attraction is its relaxation area which includes a silent room dotted with lounge chairs, a solarium as well as oriental hammams and saunas where men and women each have their own section. In addition there are two indoor swimming pools. One heated to 29° C, perfect for swimming. The other one, named Opale Onsen, heated to 32° is equipped with waterfalls, underwater jets, geysers, hydro-massaging beds and seats and jets for countercurrent swimming. At set times, licensed coaches also lead aquagym courses.
Finally, a third and last area, the Fitspark, is reserved for physical exercise. Covering 250m2, very luminous and overlooking the lake, it boasts the most up to date equipment for fitness, bodybuilding and cardio training. All with a virtual coaching device which allows personalized training from one session to the next and instant correction of your movements.
For a few hours or a few days
And in case you need one, a real live coach is also there to give advice. and private courses are available on request. So, it’s a perfect place to work off any excess weight and get fit again.. Especially as the premises also have a restaurant cooking creative but body healthy food. So as not to lose the benefits of all those workouts and the treatments received. Everything you need, then, to spend hours and hours in the Spark. Or even longer, since it also offers cures lasting several days. And two 3* and 4* hotels are next door and linked to the centre by covered passageways, allowing customers to access the spa from their rooms in bath robes. A stay that makes you feel miles away from Paris.
